Hi, I'm Amelia Bown,
Welcome to my creative world of nature and design.
I am a UK based artist with a MA in Visual Communication, a fancy way of saying illustration, which I gained from the university of Derby. I graduated in 2012 and since then I have being raising a family, gaining a red belt in Karate and working as a printmaker and illustrator selling art work across the UK in exhibitions and art fairs.
I first discovered surface pattern design at the beginning of 2025 and I knew instantly that this is where my creativity belonged. Surface pattern design has been an inherent part of my life since childhood, even if I didn't realise it!, from foraging leaves, shells or pinecones, to tracing patterns with my fingers on fabrics through to story telling.
I was so excited to see there was an industry in which I could do the things I loved. So now I have stared my first steps into a new creative adventure, where my aim of sharing the beauty of the world with others can become an actual real dream.
